Rik (2) Wins His First Championship

The 1960 World Championship Road Race was held in Hohenstein-Sachsenring, East Germany (DDR). The 67 elite starters faced 32 laps of the 8.73 km race course.

Rik Van Looy (Bel) won the sprint from an 18 rider peloton. The 1960 victory was Van Looy's first World Championship.
